The title of this post says it all. I've seen lots of cute homes for our avian friends, but I'm pretty sure this one takes the cake. It comes by way of San Francisco-based Studio Chad Wright.
I find their elongated silhouettes totally charming, and more than a little bit funny. In an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, Wright explained, "Rather than bring the birds to the birdhouse, I wanted to bring the birdhouse to the birds." And at 51 inches, 58 inches and 72 inches tall, he's certainly done so.
With prices ranging from $450-600, the Attic Bird House will set you back more than that plastic hummingbird feeder, of course. But I think of them as much as sculptural as functional, though of course they are that, too. (Their roofs are removable for easy cleaning, by the way). And for a large scale piece of art that's humorous, modern and sleek, that's a good deal indeed.
