If you’re like me, you’ve hosted more than one party in the last few weeks. And, if you’re like me, you want your gatherings to be as stylish as possible. To that end, I decided to invest in some partyware--namely glasses and plates--that I can use instead of disposables. This is more eco friendly, of course, and it also elevates the whole experience for my guests.
I had a few criteria when shopping for this stuff. One: it had to be pretty, and pretty durable. Two: it had to be inexpensive; I'm buying in bulk, after all. Three: it had to be easy to replace, because breakage will undoubtedly happen. My store of choice, then? Ikea: the stylist's best friend.
I stocked up on their plain white 365 plates: a good value at $2 for a salad/hors d’oeuvre size. These aren’t especially exciting visually, but that's one of their best features. I always think food looks best on plain white plates, and they allow you to mix in any linens you want. They’re a solid buy for sure.
With glasses, however, you can go a little more glam, and that’s why I was so excited to find the Frasera.
Good looking, no, with all those facets? And they're nice and heavy, so they feel great in the hand. The 10 oz size is just right for punch (and should whisky be more your style, they’re good for that too). They’re a fantastic value at just $2.49 each. They seem infinitely more expensive than they are, and if one breaks: no biggie. Just party on, friends. And have a great holiday season.
